A few weeks ago, we decided to start solid foods. We started with rice cereal and it turns out that she is one very particular little girl. After trying 3 different commercially available brands, it turns out that she prefers Beechnut rice cereal and nothing else! It's fine with me, seeing that it is the least expensive of all my options! After one week of rice cereal, we tried avocadoes. I was really excited about her trying something new, but she just wasn't "into" the avocado like I was hoping.
Peas, her second food, were a totally different story. This girl loves her peas! It wasn't until I saw her inhale her peas that I realized that she didn't really like avocado. I have 24 cubes or more of avocado left so I'm guessing I'll be trying it later, maybe mixing it with peas, to get her to eat it!
Poor Harvey - he looks so pathetic in this picture! With every week that goes by, she is more and more interested in Harvey. Thankfully, he is a passive dog and doesn't mind the eye poking and fur grabbing!

Ok, so Bella is little but it doesn't look like 'Lillie ate her' as you said earlier! Isn't it crazy though that B is 3 months older? 2 months if you want to get all technical with gestational age, but still! I guess that's what happens when I'm a midget - no giant babies!
Love her chubby cheeks!!
Ahh, she's adorable! Where did you find those onesies with the numbers on them?
So cute! The toe sucking is adorable. Don't show Caelyn though..lol
Oh my goodness, that first video is PRECIOUS!! Happy 6 months Lillie!!
Little Lillie is already 6 months!! Are you kidding me?! OK, now that I am over that, she is the cutest thing ever and I know Harvey and Lillie will be BFF's:o)
That first video had me cracking up! Especially the part when she was licking her lips as she pulled in her little piggies! So precious!
She is absolutely precious, Christie! I'm thinking Drew and Lillie will need to meet up one of these days. ;)
One suggestion about the avacado...Drew HATES them alone, but if I mash one up with a banana, he gobbles up every single bite.
i love her sucking on her toes! that is hysterical!! she is SO cute! happy half birthday lillie!
I stumbled upon your blog "blog-hopping" one day. I love the onsies! Did you make them or buy them somewhere? I am expecting my first baby in June and want to use this idea. I would love to read a post about them! Thanks :)
hello christie, my name is amanda and i found your blog by searching for info on galactosemnia and your blog happened to appear. so i have read about it and seen all the beautiful pics of your precious babby lillie, your cute dog, harvey, as well as your beautiful home!!! i absolutely loved the transformation!! i am interested in your jewelry, onesies, (maybe t-shirts,if possible for 1st bday) and just chatting with you in general. the reason being, i have an almost 11 month old little boy, tristan, who also has galactosemina, DG variante is the type. i was wondering what all information you have collected and if you would mind to share it with me. it scared me to death when i first heard the news about him. all the worst come to mind, until i spoke with specialist at the local children's hospital here in ky. and they made me feel somewhat better, but it still worries me daily. i keep praying day and night that at his year old check-up it will all be over! GOD helps us deal with the confusion i have for now and i know HE will always. if you don't mind can you contact me via email? i am not a member of blogger, but i do have a myspace page that i rarely get on. only to catch up lost time with old friends and its amazing the ones you think are gone are still around! lol anyway, my email address is ajshewmaker@gmail.com. i look forward to hearing from you and sharing our similarities that we have with our babies. i see lillie is a little chuncker and tristan is as well. at his 9mth. check-up he weighed 28lbs. BIG BABY!! i love chubby babies with those fat, sqeezable cheeks!!! there is nothing like them!! i hope to hear from you soon.
