This very talented mom was the inspiration for the simple "pillowcase" dress that Lillie is wearing below. I made it during her afternoon nap and she wore it around the house for the evening. What a darling little dress!
Jessica - they are basically a rectangle where the sides are sewn together up to about 6" from the top. The bottom and arm openings are hemmed and then you do a large hem on the top - about an inch or slighly more. Then you can take 7/8" ribbon and run it through the opening. Gather the ribbon to create a neck opening and tie the ribbons to keep it on! Easy peasy!
Seriously Christie - you're ridiculously awesome :) Lillie is such a lucky girl! Bella's lucky if I get all her clothes back on after changing her diaper! Ha!
This blog is attempt to capture and document our everyday life. Our daughter, Lillie, was born 8/8/2008 at 2:23 in the morning. She was born with a genetic mutation causing her to be diagnosed with a Duarte variant of galactosemia. But knowledge is power and we are able adjust her diet to prevent any long term consequences to her health.
In addition to Lillie, we have Harvey. He's our golden retriever and loyal companion.
I'm a cpa, jewelry designer, crafter, sewer, house flipper, and full time mom. Roger is a pilot, Air Force reservist, home improvement extraordinaire, and part time mechanic. Clearly, we are suckers for staying busy.
Have fun keeping up with us!
